Pump Maintenance Training Program
23rd September 2008
Innovative Australian pressure cleaner
manufacturer, Australian Pump Industries,
now offer users and dealers a service
fundamentals training course in
high pressure triplex pump technology
and applications. The course is designed
to improve aftermarket service
and cut maintenance costs.
The “Triplex Pump Service Fundamentals”
training course was developed as
a flow on from the company’s “Safety
Awareness Training program”.
“We set out to train our own dealers first, then found out that end users wanted to have
their operators and maintenance staff trained as well” said Aussie Pumps’ Ali Hamade.
“Better understanding the triplex pump system, and the basic hydraulic circuitry involved in
the high pressure water blaster, reduces operator error and consequently maintenance
costs as well” he said.
Using Bertolini pumps as the standard, the training course highlights the function, design
and application of pump, unloader valve, safety valve equipment and the general principles
of how the system works.
“It’s very similar to hydraulics or pneumatics” said Hamade, “only water is the prime medium.”
Key causes of machine failure and maintenance parameters are an integral part of the
training program, with particular emphasis on both contamination and cavitation.
“Called the twin cancers of pressure cleaning systems, the “2 c’s” can be easily prevented
by effective user training” said Hamade.
Recent course inductees include staff from Axial, Australian Pump’s New Caledonian distributor,
Australian end users and dealers.
