A new “mine spec” heavy duty trash pump has just been released by Australian Pump Industries. Called the QP301T Mine Boss, the pump uses a top quality 10HP, electric start industrial Yanmar diesel engine as its prime power source.
Protected by a thick 38mm full roll frame the QP301T Mine Boss sets the new standard in “mine spec” pump equipment. “We surveyed and have questioned mine companies in Australia and Africa. The result was a clear message that the market needed a more substantially heavy duty pump for solids handling applications” said Aussie Pumps’ Product Manager Brad Farrugia. “The design team really beefed it up to a true mine spec” he said.
The new trash pumps are designed to handle a high percentage of solids in suspension. It’s big, open, “non-clog” style impeller, made from high SG grade cast iron, allows spherical solids up to 1” in size pass through. An exclusive bronze-copper mechanical seal for abrasion resistance is supplied as standard and claimed to outlast conventional mechanical seals by up to six times!
The big 3” pump self primes up to 7.6m and is fitted with a front cleanout port that enables the operator to clean the pump of debris within a matter of minutes. The cleanout port can be opened without disconnecting suction or delivery pipe work, a major advantage over conventional self priming pumps.
“We chose the Yanmar diesel drive for this configuration of the pump because of its excellent torque and fuel efficiency,” said Aussie Pumps product manager Brad Farrugia. “Moreover, it has the ability to hold rpm under load,” he said.
The Aussie Mine Boss is loaded with features including an emergency stop, battery isolator, integrated fire extinguisher and optional Bunding tray. The integrated lifting bar has been designed to balance the pump to ensure stability when lifted by crane.
The pump features excellent efficiencies with a maximum head of 24m and flows up to 1,200 lpm. Like all Aussie quick prime self priming centrifugal pumps the new 3” trash pump is covered by a five year pump end warranty.
