Corrosive Industrial Waste Pump

The Aussie B4XRA SS stainless steel pump is designed for handling corrosive liquids.

Pumps: Perfect Process Pump

Model: B4XRA SS

Pumping corrosive industrial waste is a tough application. Submersible pumps can be eaten alive and even top quality electrical cables and seals can break down. In response to these tough requirements Australian Pump industries has released a new high flow industrial pump made from cast 316 grade stainless steel.

Called the Aussie GMP B4XRA SS, the 4” pump offers flows of up to 2,800 litres per minute with heads of up to 32 metres.   Its self priming design allows the pump to draught water from effluent pits or sumps with a direct vertical lift of 6 metres.

“Although the pump has been available for some time in standard cast iron configurations, we decided to offer a 316 grade version that handles corrosive liquids without the normal associated problems,” said Aussie Pumps’ Brad Farrugia.

The Aussie GMP pump comes in a number of configurations including bare shaft. This makes it suitable for long coupling up to 15kW electric motors. Long coupling adds greater protection for the motor in the case of seal leakage. Pump maintenance is also possible without the need to move the motor.

Upgrading a conventional end suction pump to a self priming centrifugal pump reduces maintenance time. Self priming pumps do not require troublesome foot valves and repriming the pump is simpler.

“We’ve had customers report their satisfaction after retrofitting with Aussie stainless steel pumps,” said Farrugia. “Maintenance is reduced because of the corrosion resistance of these tough pumps and they’re easy to prime after being serviced’ he said.

Alternatively, the 4” pump can be powered by a convenient and clean hydraulic power pack thus eliminating the need for electric motors altogether.

The versatile self primer is also available in lower cost cast iron or zinc free bronze configuration for less corrosive pump out duties. A range of optional top quality mechanical seals in tungsten carbide or silicon carbide and with Viton elastomers are available.

All Aussie GMP pumps are built to ISO 9001 quality and a risk assessment is carried out in compliance with Australian OH & S standards.
