Aussie Stars at Hire Show

Adam Scully and Jeremy James of Kennards, Coffs Harbour, discuss Aussie Pumps mighty Tsurumi dewatering pumps.

Hire and rental professionals at the 2013 HRIA Convention at Luna Park were impressed by a full range of tailor made Aussie Pump equipment on display.  The company, exhibiting for the first time, reported tremendous interest in their full range of heavy duty “hire special” pressure cleaners, mine spec trash pumps and Tsurumi submersibles.

Australian Pump has developed a complete range of pressure cleaners designed specifically for tough construction, mining and rental applications.  Beginning with contracts with some of Australia’s biggest hire and rental operators, the company received inspiration and direction from absolute hire professionals.  “We owe a big debt to the rental industry for encouraging us to move away from European and American designs” said Aussie Pump’s Hamish Lorenz.  “We learned that simple, strong and safe is what the hire industry really needs,” he said.

The company’s product range includes compact electric, petrol engine drive and, more recently, diesel drive machines in the 2000psi through to 7300psi product range.  All machines are designed to suit tough on-site conditions, with both construction and mining hire customers in mind.

Only top quality, genuine, engines are used.  The company standardised on Honda petrol drives and Yanmar or Kubota diesel drives for its entire product range.

A comprehensive range of heavy duty “mine spec” trash pumps, designed for rental companies and end users was also on display.  The product line extends from 2” right through to 4” and even 6” pumps designed and built tough for Australian users.

“Our 6” heavy duty trash pumps represent state of the art design and efficiency.” said Lorenz.  “They comprise true solid handling capability and we have introduced them at very cost competitive prices.  Many customers don’t realise that a big, self-priming, centrifugal trash pump is more versatile, less costly to maintain, and more profitable to operate than complex vacuum or compressor prime style pumps” he said.

The show was a great opportunity to re-launch Tsurumi submersible pumps.  Tsurumi are the world’s biggest manufacturer of submersible pumps with a manufacturing capacity at their Kyoto plant of over one million pumps per year.  The company manufactures a wide range of products particularly suitable for tough rental applications.  The line up includes cast 316 stainless steel pumps for corrosive liquid tasks and a range of 1000v dewatering pumps, sold at the same price as normal 415v configurations.
